For those who suffer physical disabilities, basic mobility is a gift that can transform lives, create opportunities, and offer the simple joy of movement.
Since 1994, Wheels for the World has taken donated wheelchairs into developing countries and custom fitted them for people with disabilities who could not otherwise afford them. Many times these communities and countries view disabilities as a liability and a burden, and the families they affect are ostracized because of those limitations.
In October, Kevin Meldrum of Joni & Friends is returning to Guatemala (he’s also been to Nairobi, Kenya twice) to deliver and fit wheelchairs to disabled individuals. Zausmer has a special connection to Kevin – paralegal Brigette Meldrum is his daughter and legal secretary Renee Edel is his sister. To support Kevin and this deeply meaningful mission, the firm went “Casual for a Cause” on September 18th, happily donating all of the day’s proceeds to Wheels for the World.

Every other Friday, Zausmer goes “Casual for a Cause,” allowing attorneys and employees to dress down in exchange for a donation to a designated charity. A different charity is selected each time – if you have a suggestion for a worthy cause, please let us know!
Because of the close relationships Mischa Boardman has with her clients, she works even harder to deliver the best possible results in the commercial litigation, eminent domain, appellate, and commercial landlord-tenant matters she handles.
