The idea of “farm to table” is critically important, not only for local economies, but also for our overall health.
On Friday, September 4th, Zausmer showed its commitment to this cause by raising funds for Growing Hope.
Since 2003, Growing Hope, based in Ypsilanti, has been empowering local communities to grow and eat healthy food. Young and old come together to grow their own fresh produce, revitalize their neighborhoods and teach one another the beauty and hope that comes from nurturing soil, seeds and self. Neighbors and vendors gather at the organization’s farmers market to connect and share around healthy, local food. Advocacy for social justice, self-reliance and healthy lifestyles results in public policy support for healthy food and urban agriculture.
Zausmer attorney Cameron Getto has a special connection to the Ypsilanti community as a member of the Depot Town Association Advisory Board, a former trustee for the Ypsilanti Board of Education, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ypsilanti Symphony Orchestra. For every dollar that members of the Zausmer family pledged to Growing Hope, Cam matched the donation with his own contribution!.
Every other Friday, Zausmer goes “Casual for a Cause,” allowing attorneys and employees to dress down in exchange for a donation to a designated charity. A different charity is selected each time – if you have a suggestion for a worthy cause, please let us know!
