For many people without sight, autonomy and mobility can be serious, sometimes dangerous challenges.
Leader Dogs for the Blind empowers individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or Deaf-Blind with necessary skills for a lifetime of independent travel, opening doors that may seem to have closed.
Since 1939, Leader Dogs has operated one of the world’s most respected and innovative guide dog programs – right here in metropolitan Detroit. The free, 26-day residential training program welcomes clients who are legally blind, at least 16 years old, have good orientation and mobility skills, and are able to care for their dog.
On December 11th, Zausmer shareholder Heidi Hudson led our Casual for a Cause fundraising efforts, matching more than sixty cents for every dollar donated by attorneys and staff at the firm, and treating every donor to a pizza lunch in recognition of their generosity!
You can support Leader Dogs too, through donations, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities. To learn more about this worthy organization and the exceptional services it provides.
