Job Description

  • Advise clients on every aspect of development and construction projects.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts related to development and construction.
  • Counsel clients on real estate, financing, zoning, insurance, and environmental matters.
  • Assist in planning and managing large, multifaceted projects.
  • Resolve disputes through meetings, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation.
  • Analyze and review project specifications to ensure contract compliance.
  • Oversee claims, warranty submissions, and bond issues.
  • Represent clients in construction defect cases involving architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Prepare construction liens and related documents for recording and perfection and manage construction lien matters including lien foreclosure litigation.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in construction law (either at a firm or as general counsel), with a preference for large-scale commercial projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to organization and detail.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex, technical matters.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing projects or matters with multiple deliverables.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Job Description

  • Represent insurers and their policyholders in first-party and third-party insurance defense litigation, including PIP, bodily injury, and property damage claims.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage discovery efforts, including drafting discovery responses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys and support staff to deliver outstanding client service.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation; PIP experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Zausmer, P.C. is seeking skilled and motivated paralegals to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support throughout all phases of the litigation process, including summarizing medical records, conducting legal research, preparing and filing documents, and assisting with trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Summarize Medical Records.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court.
  • Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibit, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
  • Redact claim files.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a paralegal, with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and legal databases.
  • Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification.
