Skilled in both written and oral advocacy, Shareholder Colin MacBeth defends carriers and insureds in auto negligence claims as well as first- and third-party actions.

Handling a large docket of cases, Colin is well-versed and knowledgeable about Michigan’s No-Fault law. He assists insurance carriers with navigating and implementing the updates to the No-Fault Act and regularly provides advice and litigation guidance for insurance carriers defending against fraudulent claims.

Colin decided on a legal career while earning his undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University. He then attended Ave Maria School of Law, supplementing his on-campus education with an internship at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Toledo, Ohio, Moot Court, and as a faculty research assistant before receiving his Juris Doctor in 2008.

Before joining Zaumser in 2016, Colin was an assistant prosecutor with the Manistee County Prosecutor’s Office. There, he prosecuted a wide range of felony and misdemeanor criminal matters, represented the State in child abuse and neglect matters, and argued appeals before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. He then joined a boutique litigation firm, learning the nuances of no-fault law and managing the litigation department for a busy docket of cases across Southeastern Michigan.

Colin prides himself on his thoughtful analysis of legal issues and his meticulous investigation of the facts, skills that help him pursue the most favorable results possible for our clients.

Outside of the office, Colin enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and his two young daughters.
