Regardless of the type of matter, Michael prides himself on providing candid advice before, during, and after litigation.  He counsels clients on preventative measures to avoid future disputes and is a creative problem solver once litigation ensues.  In every case, his focus is on practical, cost-effective solutions.

Michael is also an informed, engaging adviser, offering education and guidance to clients and non-clients alike.  He has served as a panelist for the Association of Corporate Counsel Michigan and regularly presents at the Insurance Alliance of Michigan’s annual seminar.

A shareholder at Zausmer, Michael has spent his entire career with the firm.  He regularly supports the firm’s community efforts, including City Year Detroit, Gleaners Community Food Bank, and the Detroit Pistons’ Season of Giving.

Michael earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where he served as Notes Editor for the Georgia Journal of International & Comparative Law.

After living in three of the country’s top college towns—Ann Arbor, Madison, and Athens—Michael is a passionate college football and basketball fan.  He is also an avid golfer and traveler.
